Linda’s Gifting Project
This is a year round project of organizing, preparing for, and delivering gifts to disadvantaged women and children throughout the Simcoe/Muskoka region. I provide a dozen or so organizations with over 2,000 personalized gifts and goody bags to be distributed to women and children each year. Organizations, such as the five women’s shelters and four salvation army churches that I supply, consistently report overwhelming appreciation from the recipients. Easter, Mothers day, Valentines day, and of course Christmas are especially sensitive times for the disadvantaged and abused in society, so the personalized gifts are beacons of hope to those during these seasons. My project is almost entirely self funded. Most of the labour is preformed by myself and my husband, with a few friends helping out. this is a huge undertaking and I can certainly use as much volunteer assistance as possible.
